This directory contains the pftools package release 2.1

pftools now contains not only programs for profile searches but also 
programs for profile construction. 

INSTALLATION: 
The source code is available in the file pft2.1.tar.Z
it should compile on all major UNIX platforms, using the g77 Fortran compiler.
Executables are provided for various UNIX systems. 
*** Even when using the precompiled executables, it is recommended to also
*** get the source code tar-file. The man pages and sample files are only
*** available there.
